Microsoft Research Demonstrates Windows Phone 7 Devices Controlling Surfaces & New UI’s

Microsoft has a tendency of teasing its Windows Phone 7 owners. First it gave us the details of the first platform update of Windows Phone 7 and later it rolled out the pre-update of the Windows Phone 7 , and if it bricked your device, here’s how to fix it. While we wait for the two Windows Phone 7 updates, Microsoft has displayed what we could be doing with out Windows Phone 7 devices a year or two down the road. Hit the break for more details and the video.

Prototype User-Interface of Windows Phone 7

Microsoft Research boss Craig Mundie, in a presentation and promotional video demonstrated that one or two years down the road, you will be able to tilt your Windows Phone 7 smartphone to control a highly colorful and bubbly user-interface on your desktop. He also showed that you can snap a photo using your Windows Phone 7 smartphone and then drop the smartphone on Surface for instantaneous transfer, along with other features.

While this is all purely research at this point, there is no word as yet when these highly intuitive features will go in production and when they will actually be rolled out for us to enjoy.

Anyway, you can see them in action for yourself, in this video.
