There was one thing truly spectacular about the iOS devices, not only did they offer you amazing support for all kinds of apps, the iOS brought a whole new dimension to mobile gaming as well. However, ever imagined controlling a conventional gaming platform, such as the PlayStation 3 with your iOS device? Well that is now a reality, courtesy of everyAir, an iOS app developed by Pandaelf. More on that, after the break.
People over at Pandaelf explain this phenomena;
The trick is to connect a capture device and a USB mouse/keyboard device to the PS3. The capture device sends video data to the PC, and the USB keyboard/mouse sends the button presses. On the PC itself, you run a custom build of everyAir which understands custom gestures and pipes the input to the PC which then sends it to the PS3 via the input interpreter.
Pandaelf has also developed an iOS app called EveryAir, which functions as a remote desktop application connecting your iOS device to your PC. Check out the video demonstration of Gran Turismo 5 on the iPad and God of War on the iPhone, here.
FYI: everyAir, which is available for download now on the iTunes App Store, does not support the above mentioned features, however Pandaelf is going to release a version soon which will let you play PS3 games on your iOS devices.
Download everyAir for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
