Microsoft Windows 8 Activation Protection Is Being Greatly Improved

The hype surrounding the upcoming version of Windows, Windows 8 is gradually increasing. Day by day we’re hearing more and more about Windows 8. Up till now, we know that Windows 8 is going to have an Immersive UI and a native PDF reader, Aero Lite which is a Metro UI interface and History Vault. We also know that Microsoft has started distribution of an early build of Windows 8 for OEMs. Now, word is that Microsoft is revamping OEM BIOS activation in Windows 8.

Basically, the new activation method will allow manufacturers to pre-activate copies of Windows 8 that are going to be used on their machines. OA or OEM BIOS activation was first introduced with Windows XP and version 2.0 was shipped with Windows Vista.

For Windows 8, Microsoft is cooking version 3.0 of OA. Basically, this means that hackers will have a hard time trying to activate Windows 8 illegally. Both Windows Vista and Windows 7 have OA v2.0, and we all know how easy it is to crack and illegally activate those copies. So its pretty obvious that Microsoft doesn’t want Windows 8 to get the same treatment from hackers.

More on Windows 8, when it comes. Till then, stay tuned!
