Here comes yet another SIM based unlocking solution for iPhone 4 unlock baseband 2.10.04, 3.10.01 and 4.10.01. Rebel SIM has been released and will unlock iPhone 4 on baseband 2.10.04, 3.10.01 and 4.10.01 running iOS 4, iOS 4.1, 4.2, 4.2.1 and iOS 4.3 without requiring you to jailbreak your iOS device. As you probably would have guessed by now, Rebel SIM is pretty similar to Gevey SIM unlock for iPhone. For information sakes, iPhone 4 unlock without Gevey SIM is also possible.
Bear in mind that SIM based unlocking solutions are illegal. MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team previously clarified that Gevey SIM iPhone unlock is illegal in US and possibly other countries as well. Why? Because these unlock procedures dial emergency number 112 and hang up after 2 seconds. Basically, this type of iPhone 4 baseband 2.10.04, 3.10.01 and 4.10.01 unlock is achieved by forcing baseband activation using the emergency dialler.
There are two variants of Rebel SIM being offered to unlock iPhone 4 baseband 2.10.04, 3.10.01 and 4.10.01:
- Rebel Pro Micro Sim Card is supplied with its own custom iPhone 4 Sim tray so the IC stays inside the iPhone 4 and is our Flagship Product.
- Rebel Lite Micro Sim Card does not require a special iPhone Sim tray and the IC is located on the outside of the iPhone 4 when installed and is designed for Budget users.
So if you’re that impatient for iPhone 4 unlock on higher basebands, Rebel SIM or Gevey SIM is the way to go. If you’re not that impatient, it is advised that you wait for the 40 bit NCK hack the iPhone Dev Team is working on to unlock iPhone 4 baseband 2.10.04, 3.10.01 and 4.10.01 via means of software.
Also, if you’re on older basebands such as 01.59.00, 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 and 06.15.00, iPhone Dev Team will be releasing Ultrasn0w 1.3 for iOS 4.3.1 unlock, or you can use Ultrasn0w fixer for iOS 4.3.1 unlock.
when can we expect the unlock for baseband 3.10.01 from the Dev. team?. I am already waiting for the past 2 months or so… Kindly let us know the approx. time when we should have the unlock for the same..
@kj: The iPhone Dev Team is working on the 40 bit NCK hack for iPhone 4 unlock on higher basebands such as 2.10.04,3.10.01 etc. The release is expected in the coming months. Keep checking back here as we’ll definitely update once we hear more about the unlock.
I have a micro rebel Sim card for my iphone 4.
It Doesn’t work with T-Mobile Network, I tried it.
I’m trying to get a refund from the rebel team … so far no response !
Don’t buy that cause it simply doesn’t work.
