Apple To Organize 10th Anniversary Retail Event?

It has been learnt that Apple has directed all retail store employees against requesting for vacations towards the end of May. The significance of this order is the fact that May 19th 2011 marks the 10 anniversary for Apple Retail. Does this mean that Apple is organizing some sort of event to celebrate a decade of Retail?

In the email that was sent out to all Retail employees, Apple clearly stated that employees may not request for vacation between the dates of May 20 – 22, 2011. It is being said that the stores managers and employees alike, are really excited and looking forward to whatever Apple is planning to celebrate its 10 years in Retail.

Apple opened its first two Retail Stores back in 2001, May 19th to be exact. One at Tyson’s Corner Mall McLean, Virginia, and the other at Glendale Galleria in Glendale California. Since then, Apple’s Retail Operations have kicked off and the company now owns and operates as many as 324 Retail Stores worldwide.

Similarly, earlier this year Apple blocked employee vacation requests for a couple of days when the company was launching the Verizon iPhone 4 and the Apple iPad 2. It seems like Apple is going to organize an event to mark a decade in Retail, but what exactly is that event going to be?

Stay tuned to find out more.
