The only iOS device that can not be jailbroken on iOS 4.3.1 and iOS 4.3.2 as yet is the Apple iPad 2. The iPad 2 can’t be jailbroken because Apple patched comex’s untethered exploit. However, according to Veeence, a reliable source for jailbreak news, the untethered iPad 2 jailbreak on iOS 4.3.1 and iOS 4.3.2 is nearly ready and might be released soon.
Veeence tweeted:
Apparently an A5 (iPad2) jailbreak is almost developed. There’s no release plan tho. What you get when security researchers investigate…
However, it looks like this is just a proof of concept that security researchers are working on. They do not have a release plan as yet. Until and unless the untethered jailbreak exploit is received by the jailbreak tool manufacturers, there won’t be any other way to jailbreak iPad 2. Most probably, the iPad 2 jailbreak is going to be of the userland nature.
However, Stefan Esser previously released his iOS 4.3.1 and iOS 4.3.2 untethered jailbreak exploit and that is how we’re able to jailbreak our iOS devices, untethered on both the firmware versions, today. While no ETA has been given out, lets just hope that it is done soon.
Stay tuned as we’ll definitely update once we hear more about iPad 2 jailbreak.
