Jailbreak iPad 2 Using Greenpois0n RC7 Soon As Geohot Is Working On iPad 2 Bootrom Too

We know that you’re very anxious to jailbreak iPad 2 and we feel for you if you accidently fell for the fake iPad 2 jailbreak. However, there is good news that might cheer you up. It turns out, hacking genius George Hotz or Geohot, who is now finally free from the lawsuit against Sony, has been challenged by p0sixninja of the Chronic Dev Team to dump A5 iPad 2 bootrom faster than he can. It’s our pleasure to report that Geohot has accepted this challenged and will start working on iPad 2 jailbreak soon!

Cydia

Previously, Comex has displayed his userland iPad 2 jailbreak, but release was delayed because Apple had fixed that particular userland exploit.

Both p0sixninja and Geohot will be working on a bootrom iPad 2 jailbreak. Bootrom exploit are found in the hardware and are hard to patch for Apple. The company can only patch hardware exploits in new devices. So there’s a high probability that the A5 bootrom exploit will be vulnerable on the iPhone 5 as well. Meaning that iPhone 5 jailbreak can be possible.

According to the challenge started by p0sixninja, both of these hackers have to dump the A5 (iPad 2) bootrom exploit before the other one does. Given Geohot’s history with iPhone hacking, something tells me that George Hotz will come out victorious. However, let’s not be presumptuous. May the best hacker win!

This is childish and fundamentally unlawful and will just lead to fewer freedoms and increasing restrictions. I hope APPLE crucifies him and the judge gives him no easy way out as with SONY. Make a permanent exhibit behind glass out of this punk.

Lol what’s up with Ted that’s a little harsh man.
There is absolutely nothing unlawful with what they are doing.
Jailbreaking by definition is not illegal in any way as clarified by Congress so you cannot even say that.
Also, jailbreaking was created so that people could actually customize the devices that they pay their hard earned money for, are you against that?
Furthermore, it helps app developers make money from somewhere other than the app store and don’t have to worry about apple’s silly restrictions.

It seems Ted is ignorant and for some reason decided to open his mouth and speak ignorantly about a situation he knows nothing about. I want to say thank you to all the people that work so hard to allow us the option to customize and use or hardware the way we want to.
