iOS 5 Public Developer Preview Release Imminent As Widespread Testing Begins

While iPhone users heave a sigh of relief because iOS 4.3.3 release is coming up in the next few weeks and will put an end to the whole iPhone location tracking fiasco, we are particularly excited about iOS 5. We’ll be seeing a preview of iOS 5 at Worldwide Developers Conference 2011 a few weeks from now and we’re really excited as to what Apple has done with iOS 5. It looks like a public developer preview release of iOS 5 is coming up soon as the Cupertinos have started widespread testing of iOS 5.

Testing of iOS 5

The photo, via 9to5mac, embedded above shows that Apple has started testing iOS 5 on all current iOS devices, which includes the iPhone 3GS as well. Critics assume that Apple will leave out support for iPhone 3GS in iOS 5 because it is relatively outdated now, and with iPhone 5 slated for release this Fall, it really looks like iPhone 3GS might not support iOS 5. However, the company is currently testing iOS 5 as of now.

One good thing about the fact that iOS 5 has started to crop up in developers’ stats is that even though an expected iOS 5 release is far off, we shall have plenty of opportunities to play around with beta versions of iOS 5 and it will also be fun to see if we’re able to jailbreak iOS 5 beta versions.

We’ll be bringing more on iOS 5, as it comes in. Stay tuned.
