iPhone security expert Stefan Esser, a.k.a @i0n1c has just announced via twitter that he has NO iPad 2 jailbreak and reports on the internet claiming that he may be working on an iPad 2 jailbreak, are not legitimate.
To clarify it once again. I don’t have an iPad2 Jailbreak, I don’t even have an iPad2. I just have problems with the ELEVATOR in my home.
It is evident from the tweet above that Stefan Esser, the man whose untethered jailbreak exploit has not only helped to jailbreak iOS 4.3.1 untethered, but has also helped to jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 as well as jailbreak iOS 4.3.3 untethered, is not working on an iPad 2 jailbreak.
Earlier this month, a fake iPad 2 jailbreak started making the rounds on the internet. However, it was not real and might have contained malicious payload which could have seriously damaged the computers it was downloaded on.
However, those iPad 2 owners who are anxiously awaiting the jailbreak, can rejoice as iPhone hacking maestro George Hotz a.k.a Geohot, who is now finally free from his lawsuit against Sony, has accepted Joshua Hill’s challenge to dump the A5 (iPad 2) bootrom faster than he does. What this means in that Geohot and Joshua Hill are now racing against the clock, and each other, to prepare the iPad 2 jailbreak.
