Its be a long time since the iPad 2 was released. Up till now, no iPad 2 jailbreak has surfaced. However, according to a new development, it looks like an iPad 2 jailbreak release may be coming as early as the next couple of weeks.
The development comes after Joshua Hill, a.k.a p0sixninja of the Chronic Dev Team, revealed in a video interview with MyGreatFest that an iPad 2 jailbreak release may be possible in the coming weeks.
He has also hinted that the iPad 2 jailbreak, regardless of the new hardware, will be methodically similar to how the current iOS devices are jailbroken as of now. Meaning that in order to jailbreak iPad 2, you will first have to put your iPad 2 in DFU mode. p0sixninja also said that the iPad 2 jailbreak will be compatible with firmwares iOS 4.3 and above.
Joshua Hill has also challenged hacking extraordinare George Hot a.k.a Geohot, to see which of them is able to dump the A5 (iPad 2) bootrom faster. So if Joshua claims that the iPad 2 jailbreak is weeks away, where do you think Geohot is with his iPad 2 jailbreak?
p0sixninja is going to be present at MyGreatFest 2011 in London later this year in September, while Jay ‘Saurik’ Freeman, developer of Cydia, will give the keynote speech. ChipHazard is an official sponsor of MyGreatFest 2011, and we’ll be present in London, on September 17th, to bring you the exclusive coverage of MyGreatFest 2011.
