Earlier today, Microsoft announced the release of Xbox 360 Spring 2011 dashboard update. Expect the Xbox 360 Spring 2011 dashboard update to reach your console between May 19-30. The release is being made in six waves and will make its way to your Xbox console just as it has in the past.
Xbox 360 Spring 2011 dashboard update is bringing the following changes:
- International PayPal support – Gamers can now use PayPal to buy content such as Microsoft Points, Xbox LIVE Gold subscriptions and Games on Demand titles. The functionality will not be available in the following regions: Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Czech Republic, Finland, Greece, Hungary, India, Japan, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan.
- Auto-standby feature – Console will be placed on standby if it’s idle for more than one hour, helping to reduce power consumption. This feature will be automatically enabled after you download the update. You can change this setting in the System Settings on your console.
The Spring 2011 Xbox dashboard update also brings support for XGD3 Xbox 360 disc format which allows an extra 1GB space on the usual Xbox DVD by eliminating the extra video sector.
Expect the Spring 2011 Xbox 360 dashboard update to reach your very own Xbox 360 within the 11 days between May 19-30. We know you can’t wait, and neither can we!
Well that’s the update on the software end. When can we expect a new Xbox? There’s a possibility that a new Xbox won’t release until four years.
