The iPad is a phenomenal tablet, and everyone agrees with that. However, iPad owners would have definitely thought of the possibility to make calls and send sms messages straight from their 3G iPads. Well, looks like that is going to be possible soon. A new jailbreak tweak is going to hit Cydia soon, which will allow all jailbroken iPad 3G owners to transform their 3G iPads to iPhone in order to make calls and send text messages.
The jailbreak tweak named PhoneItiPad, comes from the guys at iPhoneIslam. They’re also credited with developing another famous Cydia tweak called Facelt3GS.
As of now, only a video has been uploaded on YouTube which demonstrates the capabilities of this new tweak. The team says that iPad owners won’t need any special hardware for this. PhoneItiPad will totally transform iPad 3G to an iPhone that is capable of making FaceTime calls by number, making calls and sending text messages like any regular iPhone.
However, do remember that this particular jailbreak tweak will only be usable on first generation 3G iPads when it is released, only because of the fact that there is no iPad 2 jailbreak at this point in time. Maybe when an iPad 2 jailbreak is released, jailbroken 3G iPad 2 can also be used for making calls and sending sms messages as well.
The team says that this “a hack that will change the game,” while they have not given any deadline for release. It has only been said that we should expect to see PhoneItiPad in Cydia soon. There’s little doubt in the credibility of this video, due to the fact that these people have previously developed some really impressive tweaks.
