Apple’s productivity suite, iWork, can now be downloaded on the iPhone and iPod touch. Released today, the iWork productivity suite makes its debut on the iPhone and iPod touch after being successful on Mac and the iPad.
All three applications of the iWork suite, namely Keynote, Pages and Numbers are now available to be downloaded on your iPhone or iPod touch provided that it is running iOS 4.2.8 or later.
Senior Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing at Apple, Philip Schiller said:
Now you can use Keynote, Pages and Numbers on iPhone and iPod touch to create amazing presentations, documents and spreadsheets right in the palm of your hand. The incredible Retina display, revolutionary Multi-Touch interface and our powerful software make it easy to create, edit, organize and share all of your documents from iPhone 4 or iPod touch.
If you have already purchased iWork for your iPad, you won’t have to pay again if you want to download any of applications from the iWork suite on your iPhone and iPod touch. If you’re looking to start afresh, each individual app from the App Store will cost you $9.99 each, which makes the total amount $29.97 for the whole iWork suite for iPhone and iPod touch.
One may be skeptical about the fact that given the relatively small size of the iPhone and iPod touch, people wouldn’t exactly want to pay this price for an app that could not perform as well as it can on the Mac or the iPad. However, lets not forget that smartphones are excessively being used for all sorts of tasks, and iWork on iPhone and iPod touch may be the answer to somebody’s prayers after all. iTunes download links for Keynote, Pages and Numbers are given below:
