Previously, iPhone Dev Team released a new version of RedsnOw 0.9.8 for Mac users but there is some good news for Windows users, iPhone Dev Team has released a new updated version of Redsn0w, Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 to jailbreak iOS 5 beta which will work on both Windows and Mac. As of yet, only tethered jailbreak is possible, meaning that you have to connect the device to a computer when powering it on, in order to boot it into a jailbroken state.
If you’re using a carrier unlock, don’t use Redsn0w, or the default iOS 5 firmware, it will break your unlock. If you aren’t, however, just follow the simple steps below.
