Reoptimized InPulse for iPad 2 Custom Jailbreak Theme Now Available In Cydia

As we all know that one week earlier, the iPad 2 jailbreak was finally released, all thanks to Comex. JailbreakMe 3.0 was released with support for iPad 2 jailbreak on iOS 4.3.3. Technicalities of that aside, what is the main reason due to which many people jailbreak their iOS devices? The endless customization options that are not allowed by Apple which include, but are not limited to custom themes for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. When it comes to custom iOS jailbreak themes, InPulse is a well known name, and now the developer, Surenix has released the reoptimized InPulse for iPad 2.

InPulse for iPad 2

There’s a clear difference between something that’s resized and something that is reoptimized. The developer has said that he went back to scratch and built InPulse for iPad from the ground up, pixel by pixel, so that it could compliment the iPad, almost exquisitely. Why the reoptimization? Let the developer speak for himself:

I jailbroke my iPad 2, can you guess what I installed right after? That’s right, inPulse, along with WinterBoard (of course) and let me tell you, it look so bad! So bad, that I will be spending the next few days (putting aside Metius) reoptimizing inPulse specifically for the iPad. The demands for inPulse for iPad are so great, that that’s why I am taking my time and going back and redesigning it. “Why not to take the retina icons, drop it in Photoshop and resize it and call it a day?” Well, here’s a visual image that’ll speak for itself:

Reoptimized InPulse for iPad

The icons embedded above clearly indicate the difference between a resized, and a reoptimized theme. As you can see, the developer has put in a great amount of time to ensure that InPulse for iPad custom theme looks amazing. We did a review of this on our iPad 2 and we loved it very much.

Along with the theme, come seven new wallpapers that you can select for both the Home and lock screen of your iPad. Also, you’ll notice that the lock screen is a bit different:

Unlock the iPad and you’ll notice that all the apps on the Home screen have app masks around them. After installing this custom iPad jailbreak theme, if you install any new app, it would also be automatically masked so that no app gets left out:

If you tend to make a lot of folders on your iPad to categorize your apps accordingly, chances are that you might be fed up of the 3×3 app icon thumbnail layout of the folders as it makes they quite small. InPulse for iPad fixes that by allowing you to toggle 2×2 app icon thumbnail layout off or on, as per your liking from the Settings.app.

Also included, is a new skin for the iPod.app on your iPad. Now this really does look exquisite:

If you don’t like any particular aspect of this custom jailbreak theme, simply uncheck what you want to, from Winterboard (it’s a pre-requisite for installing InPulse) in the Settings.app.
