Apple’s New CEO Tim Cook Addresses Employees For The First Time

Nearly a full day has passed since former Apple CEO Steve Jobs resigned from the Cupertino outfit. His resignation was totally unprecedented and it came out of the blue. Amazingly, Jobs even spent a full day working at One Infinite Loop before announcing his resignation. Now that Tim Cook, former COO of Apple, has been handed the reins of Apple, today for the very first time he addressed all Apple employees as CEO.

CEO Tim Cook Apple

Tim Cook has previously been handed over the company as well. He took over as interim CEO when Steve Jobs had to go under treatment for pancreatic cancer. Later in 2007 when Steve Jobs had to get a live transplant, Tim Cook was there to take care of Apple. Earlier this year in February when Steve Jobs suddenly took off on an unannounced medical leave of absence, once again Tim Cook got the top job, however now after former CEO’s resignation, Tim is going to hold this position for long.

In his first email as CEO to Apple employees, Tim Cook assures the team that Apple will not change. He will follow in the footsteps of his mentor Steve Jobs and the company will continue to innovate and produce the best devices on the market. Full text of the email embedded below:

Team:

I am looking forward to the amazing opportunity of serving as CEO of the most innovative company in the world. Joining Apple was the best decision I’ve ever made and it’s been the privilege of a lifetime to work for Apple and Steve for over 13 years. I share Steve’s optimism for Apple’s bright future.

Steve has been an incredible leader and mentor to me, as well as to the entire executive team and our amazing employees. We are really looking forward to Steve’s ongoing guidance and inspiration as our Chairman.

I want you to be confident that Apple is not going to change. I cherish and celebrate Apple’s unique principles and values. Steve built a company and culture that is unlike any other in the world and we are going to stay true to that—it is in our DNA. We are going to continue to make the best products in the world that delight our customers and make our employees incredibly proud of what they do.

I love Apple and I am looking forward to diving into my new role. All of the incredible support from the Board, the executive team and many of you has been inspiring. I am confident our best years lie ahead of us and that together we will continue to make Apple the magical place that it is.

Tim

For long Tim Cook has proved himself to be worthy of heading Apple. Its not like Steve Jobs will be abandoning the company altogether. He now takes his position as the Chairman Board of Directors at Apple and will be involved in product development as well. Tim Cook has to come up to the standard Steve Jobs has set. First and foremost, the fact that Steve Jobs is insanely popular for his unique presentation skills which has made Apple product announcements so amazing over the past is something that Cook must match up to. We know that Tim Cook is a workaholic and is extremely dedicated to Apple, he’s the perfect man for the job.
