We’ve all had our affliction and addiction to gaming. From the early days of Sega and Nintendo to much more advanced consoles like the PlayStation 3, we’ve had them all and loved them deeply. If you’re an ardent gamer, chances that you have as many consoles as you can possibly afford. Currently the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 are the apple of each eye of a gamer and many would fantasize about having both of these amazing consoles joined together as one. Well, one man has been able to do that by joining the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 to form what ChipHazard is calling the Super Console.
The gentleman behind this project has done something that we might never see Microsoft and Sony do. He has managed to fuse a thick 80GB PlayStation 3 and the latest slim Xbox 360 in to one single box that can keep both of these consoles well ventilated inside of it. That’s not all, wait until you hear the best part! This particular Super Console as we like to call it has dual video outputs meaning that you will be able to play a game on the PS3 and the Xbox 360 at the very same time. Super cool, no?
If you even have a tiny idea about consoles, you’ll know that these damn things heat up very quickly and if not subjected to the correct amount of ventilation, they can burn out quite easily. So obviously, providing next to perfect ventilation was the top most priority of this modder. This single cases houses that parts of both of these consoles, so there are two consoles running simultaneously inside one box that’s bound to heat up very quickly. Instead of opting for a liquid based cooling system as many would predict without even reading this article once, the modder has opted for some strong air cooling which would maintain the PS3 at a temperature of 28.5ºC and the Xbox 360 at 25.5ºC. Do keep in mind that the temperatures can vary during long hours of operation or while running heavy games.
Don’t expect the luxury of ordering this, for want of a better word, Super Console from the luxury of your couch. The modder isn’t going to build a whole bunch of these and sell them, but has promised to put up the whole work log of this project online so that if you’re interested in one of these, you make it yourself.
So tell us, how badly does your inner gamer want this?

too much power in one console! What have you done!?
But can it play Crisis? I know, old meme. I had to say it though.
Do they share processing power? That would be cool! If it’s just two separate consoles inside a case then I don’t find this all that interesting.
Didn’t South Park already do this when they introduced Towlie?
Meh…. imbed into a PC already.
