Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson is yet to release on 24th October, but the Associated press got a copy on Thursday. The biography reveals many aspects of his professional life. One certain aspect is his hatred towards Android.

His hatred started for Google’s OS Android since the beginning when it was first introduced in 2010 by HTC, as it shared many features of the iPhone. Jobs went a far as saying that google actions were equivalent to “grand theft” to Isaacson.
I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple’s $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong. I’m going to destroy Android, because it’s a stolen product. I’m willing to go thermonuclear war on this.
Those were the exact words quoted by Jobs, which sounded very intense indeed. Android really pissed off Jobs, hence the lawsuits era emerged. Jobs had a meeting with Eric Schmidt later at a cafe in Palo Alto, California in which Jobs made it clear that he didn’t want score money, but want to protect his intellectual property.
I don’t want your money. If you offer me $5 billion, I won’t want it. I’ve got plenty of money. I want you to stop using our ideas in Android, that’s all I want.
Surely this resolved nothing, as Jobs didn’t want to settle the lawsuit. On a personal note, technology progresses by enhancement. If another company shares an idea and uses it to make a better thing, then it should be appreciated rather than discouraged. Apple doesn’t offer everything, Android has a shot to offer things which are not there at the user end.
Lets hope that the current team of Apple realize that sharing is essential for evolution, but then again if their late co-founder and mentor disagreed to settle things, its very unlikely Apple will stop fighting with Android.
