After pre-orders for iPhone 4S became available in Hong Kong last Friday, all of the iPhone 4S units sold out within a short period of 10 minutes.
Analyst Brian White with Ticonderoga Securities who has been keeping close tabs on Apple’s prospects in China, reported the event.

In a note to investors on Monday, White said :-
In our view, this is a very positive sign for iPhone 4S demand in Greater China has Hong Kong represents the first entry of the new smartphone in the rapidly growing region, and we expect the 4S to reach Mainland China in December.
We believe this rapid sell out will rest concerns surrounding the uptake of the iPhone 4S in the Greater China region that were driven by the limited language capability of Siri, which did not launch in Mandarin or Cantonese.
iPhone 4S has been a huge success everywhere it invades. Most probably the new personal assistant technology ” Siri ” has been the key feature that mainly accounted for iPhone 4S success.
First the pre-orders for iPhone 4S sold out on all three US carriers the day before launch and then Apple marked its biggest iPhone launch ever by selling record breaking 4 million iPhone 4S units and now China, which is the Apple’s second largest market is also showing great response.
Along with Hong Kong, the iPhone 4S will also launch this Friday in the following countries :-
- South Korea,
- Albania,
- Armenia,
- Bulgaria,
- El Salvador,
- Greece,
- Guatemala,
- Malta,
- Montenegro,
- New Zealand,
- Panama,
- Poland
- Portugal,
- Romania.
