The heading says it all, the hackers behind Project Black Mirror have created a way to control the iPhone 4S personal assistant ” Siri ” using their brains. That’s right, they got the thing done which till now can only be done by speaking with Siri.
IntoMobile, spotted this news few hours ago in which they described the process through which this miracle is possible.
The system includes Arduino prototyping platform, Macbook pro and ECG pads to capture brain waves. Using this system hackers were able make a call by just thinking.
The commands are then matched and routed through the speech synthesizer and then the signals coming from it, is sent to the iPhone’s microphone jack in a form of human voice. The main thing in all this are not the ECG pads, but the speech synthesizer is the main thing which decodes the incoming brain waves to audible words.

This is just the beginning, in future surely their can be fed many commands to Siri through this system by just thinking. This is evolutionary development, and can serve as a very useful tool for disabled people who can’t speak.
Maybe these guys could get hired by Apple, to make their speech synthesizer hardware so small in size that it can be embedded in the next iPhone. That would be just epic.
