Google’s Gmail App For iOS Back In App Store

Previously, Google launched the Gmail app for iOS platform earlier this month on November 2nd and just after few hours of launch it was removed from the store due to several bugs which were spotted on the app. Gmail is now back on the store with the updated version which supposedly fixes the bugs.

It was really careless of Google putting their main app on the store with such bugs, seems like the Search giant didn’t have the time to test the app before launching it before. Still many people wouldn’t have experienced the problem, as the buggy version of Gmail was available for just few hours. Its much likely that many users didn’t download the new version back then.

In case you are one of those users who didn’t download the initial version released back then and are wondering what bugs did Gmail encountered. The initial version contained a bug which broke notifications and displayed error messages, along with some other minor bugs.

Gmail blog :-

In the short time the app was public we received a lot of helpful feedback and feature requests. This included requests for everything from bigger features like multiple account support to customizations like improved notifications and mobile specific signatures.

We’re just getting started with the Gmail app for iOS and will be iterating rapidly to bring you more features, including all the ones listed above plus many more.

Based on your comments we have already improved our handling of image HTML messages – they are now sized to fit to the screen and you can pinch to zoom in.

Well lets see what more does Gmail app for iOS brings in the future. It appears that the main issues are fixed. You can download the app from iTunes Store and check it out.

Note : Those who by chance kept the initial buggy version of Gmail, first uninstall it and then install this new verision.
