Apple and Samsung being partners are also the biggest rivals of one another and have been engaged in patent wars since a long time now. Apple could never bare the Android’s birth impact on the smarphone industry along with Galaxy tabs.
Apple initiated the war and after taking much heat, Samsung finally retaliated to seek the damage compensation by fighting fire with fire. Following is a long infographic which deeply illustrates the rivalry.
The infographic however misses two very important events like, Samsung was able to successfully lift the ban from its Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia after facing long time ban there resulting in huge loss for the company.
Also Samsung was able to lift ban from its Galaxy devices in the U.S which was clearly a very big victory for Samsung. Like mentioned in the above infographic, the company rely on each other big time as Samsung manufactures the processing chips for Apple’s iOS devices. Despite such business relationship, they are not able to work things out and have to knock at the court’s door for justice or leverage over the other.
Hope that both the companies find a way out of this mess so that they can compete with one another with their products and not with their patent lawsuits.
