If you’re an iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch owner with iOS 5 or later installed, then you must be waiting anxiously towards the final untethered jailbreak release so that you can freely install third-party apps and unlock your device’s baseband without getting stuck with the hassle of doing the jailbreak procedure every time you boot your device.
The Chronic Dev Team member pod2g has been showing real good progress for the ios 5 untethered jailbreak lately, he even showed a video demo of untethered jailbreaked iPhone 4 running iOS 5.
As we told you earlier, the exploits found out bu pod2g are not patched with the release of iOS 5.0.1 by Apple so the exploits he found for iOS 5 also apply on iOS 5.0.1, making untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 easy.
Today pod2g in his blog updated his progress regarding the coding for untethered jailbreak iOS 5.0.1, here’s what he said :-
iPad 1 5.0.1 untethered code is done, testing tomorrow with a friend’s device. Just to let you know my progress in real time. iPhone 3GS 5.0.1 untethered code is done. Testing tomorrow also! iPod 4G 5.0.1 untethered too !
). Apple TV 2 4.43 untethered done also. Will be able to test in some days.
Keep in mind that this success only applies to A4 models, the jailbreak status for A5 models is unknown. After the testing is done and everything, hopefully the jailbreak tool will be made available to public real soon.
