The Canadian jailbreak developer iH8snOw released a new version of SnowBreeze 2.9 which supports the untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 running A4 devices. It also features a whole lot of new features which were covered in the previous post. Here is the guide for jailbreaking iOS 5.0.1 untethered using the latest version of SnowBreeze after the jump!.
How To Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Using SnowBreeze 2.9 On Windows :-
STEP 1: Run the jailbreak tool as an admin and press the right arrow (Click HERE if you don’t have the jailbreak tool).
STEP 2: Browse for the necessary IPSW firmware or download it using the tool’s IPSW download feature.
STEP 3: After getting the firmware, the jailbreak tool will create the custom IPSW file and place it on the desktop.
STEP 4: Pace your device into DFU mode and click start. The device will enter iREB which will place your device in PwnedDFU mode.
STEP 5: When device gets verified in PwnedDFU mode, exit SnowBreeze and open iTunes.
STEP 6: After opening iTunes, Hold shift on your keyboard and click “Restore” which will prompt you to browse for the custom IPSW file made by SnowBreeze.
NOTE : If your device wasn’t identified in the PwnedDFU mode by iTunes then try STEP 4 again.
That’s it!, your device will get restored with the untethered jailbroken version of iOS 5.0.1.
