Good news Linux users!, the jailbreak tool Absinthe has been updated to version 0.3 which along with minor iOS 5-5.0.1 bug fixes now supports the Linux platform as well and it’s available for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 to download right now.
Alongside Linux, Absinthe v0.3 has been released for both Windows and Mac as well but if you’ve already jailbroken your device with the previous version of Absinthe 0.2 then there is no need to download and apply the latest version as of yet.
However, if you’ve still not jailbroken your device yet then this latest version 0.3 is ideal to use for getting your iPhone 4S/ iPad 2 untethered jailbroken.
Like previous versions, this tool for Linux supports iOS 5-5.0.1 firmware for iPhone 4S and iOS 5.01 for iPad 2. Again, users looking for unlock should remain on version iOS 5.0 so they don’t encounter any problem in the future.
