Microsoft Might Release Windows 8 Release Candidate This Summer [Report]

With the huge success of Windows 8 consumer preview (judging by the massive amounts of the downloads), now there are rumors spreading that the awaited release candidate (RC) version of Windows 8 is expected to unleash around this May.

Citing unnamed sources, WinUnleaked.tk seems to reckon the RC version of Windows 8 will be available to download from May or early June. Judging by the fact that the final version of Windows 8 is expected to release around October, this tip sounds quite promising.

A release candidate is not exactly the final version, but it pretty much includes everything that you can expect from the final version. In other words, with exclusion of some drivers and performance tweak, in terms of UI and other things, the RC version is pretty much the glimpse of the final version.

Installing new version of Windows is always a hassle as the user has to install every application from the scratch and that is where RC version comes in.The RC version holds much significance as it makes people decision regarding upgrade more easy as pretty much all the features are in front of them.

Whatever the credibility of source maybe, only time can tell if the tip had some significance. We’ll keep you posted in case some development arises regarding the release date of the Release candidate version.
