How To Unlock Jailbroken iPhone Running iOS 5.1.1 Using UltraSnow 1.2.7 [Old BaseBands]

With the RedSnow update adding support for iOS 5.1.1 few days ago, the unlock utility UltraSnow also got updated to support software unlock for  jailbroken iPhone devices running iOS 5.1.1. With the main emphasis being towards jailbreak, for many users unlocking the device is also the part of the process to get their devices running. For this purpose we have provided a step by step procedure to guide you through the process.

 

 

Before we start with the guide, there are few things that should be know before continuing. The main thing to know is the baseband version on which this software unlock works. To check which baseband you are running, goto Settings > General > About and see the Modem firmware version. Following is the list for the compatible baseband versions that would work with Ultrasnow 1.2.7 :-

  • 01.59.00
  • 04.26.08
  • 05.11.07
  • 05.13.01
  • 05.12.01
  • 06.15.00

How To Unlock Jailbroken iPhone Running iOS 5.1.1 Using UltraSnow 1.2.7

Step 1: Launch Cydia, select the ‘Search’ option from bottom navigation bar and then search for “UltraSnow”.

Alternative : You can also look for the UltraSnow package using a direct repository link. To do that, select the ‘Manage‘ option followed by the ‘Sources‘ button and then select ‘Add’ in the top left hand corner. A pop up box will appear on the screen, enter ‘http://www.repo666.ultrasn0w.com‘ and hit ‘Add Source’.

Step 2: Either way when you find the package, select the option Install that would be located on the top right corner of the package details.

Step 3: After confirming its install action, the installation procedure would be initiated and when it’ll finish, you’ll be prompted that it’s finished. After that, select the option Restart Springboard to reboot the device.

That’s it!, after the reboot your device would be unlocked and would have the freedom to work with any GSM network.
