Along with Firecore updating their jailbreak tool Seasonpass, iH8snow also updated his jailbreak utility SnowBreeze to version 2.9.6 which adds untethered jailbreak support for the new ATV firmware 5.0.2.
However, unlike SeasonPass which only adds the support for the new ATV version, this new SnowBreeze version includes a new feature through which Apple TV 2 users can now resize their root partition.
Just in case you haven’t updated your Apple TV to the newer firmware version, you can do so by navigating through General > Software Update under the Settings Menu. You can also download the version by direct links (ATV2, ATV3).
Like Seasonpass, SnowBreeze jailbreak support is also limited to 2nd gen Apple TV devices since no exploits have been discovered in the new A5x processor of the 3rd gen Apple TV device.
When a low level exploit is found in the A5(X) processor, then it might e possible for the iOS hackers to provide jailbreak support for the new ATV device as well. Grab the new version from the direct link given below.
