After much speculations and rumors floating around, Apple finally unveiled iOS 6 at WWDC yesterday. This new firmware comes with loads of new features and to just give us a glimpse of what they will be, Apple seeded out iOS 6 beta 1 to developers and you know what that means – new version of iTunes!.
However, this time it’s a little different. The latest release of iTunes, which carries the version number 10.6.3 supports the iOS 6 beta, and is a major requirements if you want to restore your iOS device to said iOS update and the strangest thing, it’s not a beta release like before, it’s the final build.
Since it’s not a beta release, all users can download the this new iTunes version without having a dev’s account. Thought the new version brings few changes like improvements over their iCloud services, the only major change noticeable is the support for iOS 6 beta.
Since the first beta version of iOS 6 is available to only devs out there, upgrade for most of the users might not make any sense – or would it?. Well in a post before we pointed towards the direct download links for iOS 6.1 IPSW, so if you manage to download the new firmware, goto (Option/Command + Upgrade) in iTunes 10.6.3 and your device would get upgraded. However, if you upgrade your device you won’t be able to downgrade as of yet so proceed with caution.
So go ahead and download the new version of iTunes from Apple’s website and enjoy the iOS 6.1 beta support!.
