With the beta version of iOS 6 out in the open and following the release of anticipated RedSnow jailbreak (intended for devs only), there had been no Cydia support despite applying tethered jailbreak. Since the jailbreak provided access to only SSH and afc2, hackers have been able to find a way to install Cydia to the brand new iOS version. Find out the procedure below.
How To Install Cydia On iOS 6 Beta
Step 1: Jailbreak your iOS 6 device (tethered) by using RedSnow 0.9.13dev1 [Guide].
Step 2: SSH into your device usiung tools like Coda etc on a local WiFi network and put in SSH username = “root” SSH password = “alpine”.
Step 3: Execute the following command via SSH (copy and paste): wget -q -O /tmp/cyinstall.sh http://wyndrepo.googlecode.com/files/cyinstall.sh && chmod 755 /tmp/cyinstall.sh && /tmp/cyinstall.sh
Step 4: Upon refresh, Cydia should now appear on your Home screen, open it and it will begin preparing filesystem.
That’s it!, now you can use Cydia and start installing tweaks but since many tweaks haven’t been updated to cater for iOS 6 requirements, they won’t work on your device. Proceed at your own risk!.
