While it has been possible to run Android Apps on Windows before, now Mac users can also run those Android apps too, thanks to the popular virtual machine BlueStacks. The team after enjoying immense popularity on Windows (1 Millions downloads in 9 days), got the inspiration to port Android apps on Apple’s domain as well.
You must be wondering why the team made Android Apps able to run on Computer and not iOS apps?. Well following is what the CEO had to say about this.
BlueStacks CEO Rosen Sharma :-
Our PC version took off a lot faster than we had planned for. People are spending a lot of time on their smartphones and want the same experience on all devices.
By bringing Android Apps to Mac we are breaking open the Apple ecosystem, which has traditionally been closed. Also, Android is struggling because of a lack of tablet applications. Developers now have an incentive to build hi-‐res apps to work on the resolutions like retina displays on the new mac for example.
So there you have it, this aim behind BlueStacks teams is to improve Android ecosystem. If more and more users use this virtual machine to enjoy apps on their computers, it’ll give a great oppurtunity for Android devs to make optimized versions of their apps for Tablet PCs (which lacks quality apps). Let’s hope this virtual machine gains as much popularity on Mac as it did on Windows.
