Rovio initially revealed that they would be releasing their first non-AngryBirds game for iOS and Android, Amazing Alex , sometime this month. Today, the Finnish developer posted a new launch trailer and announced a release date for Amazing Alex set for this Thursday July 12th on both iOS and Android platform.
Even though it hasn’t been released yet, Amazing Alex is set to be a huge hit due to the enormous popularity Rovio has earned from its Angry Birds series. An official trailer video has now been released by Rovio that you can see below.
As you can see from the trailer it’s nothing like Angry Birds, in fact a whole new approach has been utilized as a result of Rovio’s recent IP acquisition of Casey’s Contraptions, an addictive puzzle game by Snappy Touch and Mystery Coconut. Unlike puzzle games like “Where’s My Water”, Amazing Alex will have you combining various objects and building contraptions to solve levels.
The timing couldn’t have got any better, people were kind of getting tired from the whole Angry-Birds series because of which they needed something brand new from scratch. For those Anxious Android device owners, they will not be treated like second-grade community any more since Amazing Alex will release on iOS and Android on the same date.
