Alongside plenty of awesome third-party Launchers available for Android, the official Galaxy S3 Touchwiz UI has now been ported for all Android devices running ICS (Android 4.0.x) which is now available for download in the form of an APK file.
All this has been made possible by an ever-lasting effort by 13 year old* rani9990 on popular Android development and hacking forums XDA Developers. The procedure for installation is simple. You can just download the APK and install it as you normally would and use it.
However, by just installing with the APK file, you won’t be able to use any widgets. To use widgets, you must place the APK file under /system/app using a root explorer like File Expert, change /system permissions to rw –r –r and then install it. The developer also suggests going into Settings > Applications to clear data for the launcher.
In theory, the launcher is supposed to work with every Android device running ICS and to test out that theory, this launcher has been confirmed to be working on popular smartphone like the HTC Sensation, HTC EVO 4G LTE, Sony Xperia Arc S, Motorola Droid, LG Nitro HD, HTC Rezound, HTC One S.
