Sony’s Xperia Tablet Might Release in September, Specs and Pricing Unveiled [Report]

Sony is set to host a special unveiling even at the end of August in Berlin and like others grand unveiling events conducted by the like of Samsung, the Japanese Smartphone Giant also decided to keep things under the wrap and surprise everyone at the event.

Despite Sony trying its best to keep everything sealed, it’s hard for them to surprise us anyway since almost everything has been revealed via plethora of  sources regarding the future devices release already.

With Hayabusa Phone turning out to be Xperia GX, the mint has also been discovered via online presentations found which turns out to be a Sony Xperia Tablet. This time however, the leak credibility doesn’t rely on sources but on the presentation itself which is deeply detailed.

According to the slides, following are the specs that can be expected from the brand new Xperia Tablet -

  • Quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor
  • 9.4-inch display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution
  • Dual 8 MP/1 MP cameras
  • 6,000 mAh battery
  • The new tab will come in three versions, with 16, 32 and 64 GB of internal memory, all set to come with SD cards, ST ports, HDMI, and DLNA.
  • OS : ICS or later

The leak also reveals that Xperia Tablet will be PlayStation Certified and alongside specs, retail pricing for the 9″ tablet has also been revealed.

  • $449.99 for the 16 GB model
  • $549.99 for the 32 Gb model
  • $649.99 for the 64 GB model

While we know about the specs and unveil info, one thing that remains to be disclosed is the release date. While the slides doesn’t mention anything regarding it,  leak’s source suggests that it would be put up for sale sometime in September.

With Sony showing great progress on low-end smartphone market with its devices like Xperia U, hopefully it will do great in the high-end sector as well. We’ll keep you posted when a new development comes into play.
