After a plethora of rumours circling around the tech community, Samsung has finally acknowledged those Note 2 rumours by officially confirming that Galaxy Note 2 will indeed be launched at the second episode of unpacked event to be held on 29th August ahead of IFA.
Following is what the official Samsung representative said to Reuters today :-
We plan to unveil the next Galaxy Note at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin on August 29.
This short statement has finally put an end to all rumours and has left with just one ambiguity regarding the launch of Galaxy Note 10.1 Tablet. If there is indeed going to be an event conducted on 15th August then there might be some hope for its earlier unveil.
As we had speculated, Sammy intends to destroy the excitement of the next gen iPhone device, due for launch just after two weeks from Note 2 unveil. Depending upon the situation, Apple might hold back it’s next iPhone release and would rather unveil their new iPad mini tablet instead.
Samsung has risen from lower ranks to today’s top smartphone seller, with a record quarterly profit of $5.9 billion this second quarter of 2012. Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S III, has sold 10 million units in its first six weeks in the market, and is determined to challenge the iPhone’s dominance in the consumer market.
Alongside Galaxy S series, first gen Note phablet proved to be a much worthy contender in the smartphone market and amount of hype that Galaxy S3 has stomped upon us, Note 2 is generating similar amount of anticipation as well. Now we can finally relax till the unpacked event to find out what Samsung’s 5.5″ Hybrid has in store for us.
