While many Android users are yet to receive Google’s ICS update, unlike old Sammy smartphone users the Taiwanese are determined to bring ICS update for old and weak HTC smatphones. While no exact rollout dates have been announced yet, a Facebook comment from the company’s official account confirms that ICS for the Thunderbolt and Desire S will indeed be coming coming by the end of this fall.
HTC had initially planned for pushing these updates in July but for some uncertain reasons the date got delayed. It’s worth noting that some of those smartphone adopters are already enjoying un-official stable ICS ports which might kill the need of having an official firmware update but I guess HTC must be trying to assure its users longevity of its products unlike Samsung.
Even though HTC’s FB comment suggest them to plan the finishing update by August, one shouldn’t expect ICS release this early given the past track record of void promises. For those HTC users who are uncomfortable in performing Root and flashing custom ROMs, you might have to wait a little longer to get the stock goodness of ICS,

Thanks man!
