Reminder: iOS 6.1.3 Untethered Jailbreak Not Possible Soon, Don’t Update Your Device

It looks like the party time for jailbreak users is going to come to an end pretty soon with new iOS 6.1.3 update that will most likely patch exploits used by evasiOn. PlanetBeing reports that Apple has patched one of the five exploits that evasi0n uses to accomplish the jailbreak.

PlanetBeing, one of the founding member of team evad3rs  sat down with Forbes writer Andy Greenberg, and confirmed what everyone knew was inevitable. The evasi0n jailbreak will most likely be patched in iOS 6.1.3.

However, in this cat and mouse game between Apple and Jailbreak creators, the fruit giant is likely to patch more than just one exploits used by EvasiOn. Planetbeing:-

If one of the vulnerabilities doesn’t work, evasi0n doesn’t work.

We could replace that part with a different vulnerability, but [Apple] will probably fix most if not all of the bugs we’ve used when 6.1.3 comes out.

It looks like the fruit giant is once again determined to give Jailbreak creators a hard time finding new exploits on the upcoming iOS update. Don’t be surprised if it take evad3rs more than a month to come up with jailbreak solution for iOS 6.1.3.

So what does it mean for current jailbreak users? Well, first of all stay away from the upcoming iOS 6.1.3 update as it would kill jailbreak access to your device. Also, save your device’s SHSH blobs incase you accidentally update to the newer iOS version and might want to downgrade later on to regain jailbreak privilege.
