Google launched their new social network service a few months ago which is known as the Google+. It’s a new social network which comes with a lot of goodies and currently the best challenge to its rival, Facebook. Google+ for iPhone was launched after one month, whereas it was available for Android from the first days. Well, there is a rivalry between Google and Apple and we all know it’s getting hotter by each day, but Google like doing justice with their users.

Almost everyone is familiar with Google+ Hangout feature which let people have a group video conference, and it was recently launched for Android. Now Google finally brought the G+ Hangout feature to the iPhone, making the iUsers capable to hangout with their friends in Google style. The update also brought some other changes to G+ for iPhone, have a look:

Join Hangouts from the mobile app

Huddle is now Messenger

Send photos in Messenger

+1 on comments

Reliability improvements in Messenger

Granular push notification settings

Map view in profile for places you’ve lived

Improved +mention support

Share a post with individuals

Improved public search for people

Various bug and performance improvements

Anyway, there is still no sign of G+ app for iPad and I hope it’s somewhere around the corner, because there are a lot of iPad users who are waiting for this app, also Facebook for iPad isn’t out yet, so this is a good chance for Google to lead over Facebook if they really want to keep Facebook out of the game. So people don’t forget to tell us about your experience with new updated Google+ app after the break.

Google+ is becoming a popular social network with over 10 million users till date. If you are a power user and want to follow other users posts, you can create RSS Feeds for that specific profile so that you can add them to your feed reader. But if you have noticed, there are no options for creating RSS feeds for any profile in Google plus so we have to use alternate ways to create RSS feeds.

If you are new to Google+, you can check out some guides to help you transfer your contacts and pictures from other social networks in few simple steps. There are several methods available on the internet to accomplish them but we will look at two of them right. Just follow the steps mention below and you will be able to add RSS feeds for Google+ in no time.

Method 1

Visit the unofficial Google+ User Feed creator which helps users create RSS feeds for different Google+ profiles. Normally, when you look at the URL of Google+ profile, it looks something like this:

https://plus.google.com/117420368760274729369

When you will visit PlusFeed, it will show you URL after which you have to the numbers which are with your Google+ profile URL. Then after adding the numbers, the URL should look something like the one shown below:

http://plusfeed.appspot.com/117420368760274729369

Now all you have to do is paste this URL in your feed reader and you will be able to follow the updates from that user.

Method 2

The second method is creating RSS Feeds through an online service, FeedDude. FeedDude is a useful web service which can be used to create RSS Feeds for any website which does not provide RSS feeds. You can easily create RSS feeds for Google+, Facebook or Twitter using FeedDude so that they can be added to any feed reader.

To create RSS Feeds, open FeedDude, paste the URL of the Google+ profile and click Get RSS.

After creating the feed, it will give you the link to download the created feed. You can download the RSS feed and add it to your desktop feed reader.

You can even copy the link given by FeedDude and add them to Google Reader.

I hope you found these useful. If you know about any other application or internet tool which can help users create RSS feeds, please share with us using the comments section below.

This comes as a surprise to many of us. We’re quite sure you know about the maestro known as MuscleNerd. Member of the iPhone Dev Team, he is credited with releasing jailbreak and unlock solutions for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. A renowned name in the iPhone hacking arena and he is always referred to by his pen name which is MuscleNerd. We’ve never actually heard of his real name because he does not wish to share it on the internet. MuscleNerd has a strong following on Twitter but it looks like Google+ isn’t a place where he can building a huge following, not with their stringent policies in place.

MuscleNerd has been suspended from Google+. His profile has been suspended on the premise that he has not provided his real name. Google has it in the Terms and Conditions of Google+ that all users must provide their real names. MuscleNerd didn’t do that, which led to him being suspended from Google’s infant social network.

Google+ was launched earlier last month in June and is currently in field trial only. You need an invite currently in order to use Google+ as public registration has still not be opened. If you’d like to try out Google+. don’t hesitate to ask us for a free Google+ invitation. This new social network was launched in competition to Facebook and Twitter that currently dominate online social networking globally. Within the span of one month, Google+ has grown to 18million+ users, hinting a promising future for the internet search giant’s new social network.

Google really seems to be enforcing its policies. They have also asked all Google+ users to set their profiles to public by the end of this month or face being banned from the network. No other social network has such stringent policies and for Google to make real names for profiles a mandatory requirement, it may cause some privacy buffs to speak out. Logically speaking, it is obvious that MuscleNerd has legit reasons for not wanting his real name to get out on the internet. We know that the internet is filled with creeps and equally creepy stalkers that can also bring harm upon you. A person who is already followed nearly quarter of a million people on Twitter would obviously not want people to find out where he lives and what he really does. So what if he doesn’t want to give out his name? Why does Google have a problem with that?

We’ll update you further when we hear more on this. For now though, it can be safely said that the submission of real names is mandatory for using Google+, whether you like it or not. Please do share with us what you think about this unnecessary obligation by commenting below.

Google+ is becoming popular day by day and many people believe that it can give some serious competition to Facebook. Many people even migrated from Facebook to Google + but the main issue is importing your data from Facebook. Earlier we posted a guide on how you can import your entire contacts list from Facebook to Google+. But there are some other things on Facebook as well which people want to import from Facebook such as Photos, videos and other shared posts.

Right now, there two methods which can be used to import Facebook photos to Google+. You can either manually download your Facebook data and then add to Google Plus or use Google Chrome extension Move Your Photos. As you know that the photos on Google+ are hosted on Picasa service with unlimited storage, you can use this handy extension to transfer your photos to Picasa and then add them to your circles.

Method 1 for Importing Facebook Photos to Google+

Just follow some simple steps below and you will be able to import your Facebook Photos easily.

Step 1. Login to your Facebook account and go to Account Setings > Download Your Information.

Step 2. Now, click on the download button and it will start processing your request. Once you click on the download button, it will show you a notification that the processing may take time depending on the data in your facebook account.

Step 3. Wait for the confirmation email regarding your request which contains download link to your data. Click on the link in the email and verify using your Facebook password.

Step 4. Once the file is downloaded, unzip it and locate the folder named “Photos”.

Step 5. Now, just login to your Google+ account and upload the photos.

Method 2 for Importing Facebook Photos to Google+

Step 1. Go to Google Chrome Extension gallery and install Move Your Photos.

Step 2. After the extension is installed, a small icon will appear right next to your address bar.
